Mr and Mrs Priestley, our Wedding of The Month couple, tell their story of having a wedding at Ramada Farnham:

the proposal

"Alan proposed to me on New Year’s Eve in 2010. It was a big surprise, and I was proposed to in my sister’s kitchen!! It was kind of romantic in its own way! We decided to get married in the summer of 2012, so we had 18 months to prepare the biggest day of our lives.

We started looking at venues in 2011, and had decided we wanted to get married in July 2012. We looked at many venues, before we found the Ramada at Farnham. On visiting, staff were so friendly and we instantly felt comfortable and knew this was the venue for us. The Olympic package suited our needs and budget perfectly."

"The planning didn’t really happen until 2012, when we met Mel- the hotel’s wedding coordinator. She was so lovely and helpful, and nothing we asked for was too much trouble. The hotel was so organised and made us feel very relaxed throughout the planning stages and up to the big day.

Alan and I had both organised surprises for each other for the day, and Mel helped us to keep these a secret!

It was great being able to try the Wedding Breakfast before the big day, and from then we knew it was going to be a great day. Lots of our guests took advantage of the special hotel room rate, which meant everyone could relax and enjoy the day."

"The day was amazing!

We got married in the conservatory which was a great setting and start to the day. The ballroom looked stunning for the Wedding Breakfast, as did the sparkling dance floor for the evening.

Despite the rain all day, the staff made sure it didn’t affect the day. Mel continued to be great and supportive, especially when I had a dress disaster! Again it was the 'nothing is too much trouble attitude' from all the staff that helped to make the day prefect.

All the guests said it was the best wedding they have ever been to.

We couldn’t have picked a more prefect venue, and we are looking forward to coming back to the hotel with friends at Christmas time."
